Animals Seen Raptured
Shortly before the 9.0 earthquake in the Indian Ocean that produced the deadliest tsunami in world history, killing 150,00 people, several survivors witnessed animals, birds and even bats running and flying away from the coastal areas in what seemed like a frantic exodus. To the onlookers that event was very strange, but not as strange as the more than six story waves that came crashing down upon them an hour later.
I had always heard that animals have a keen sense of detecting storms (scientifically observing my own dogs, ha-ha!), but I did not put this together until recently. Just before God’s judgment was released in the form of a flood during the time of Noah, in God’s grace, animals CAME OF THEIR OWN ACCORD to the ark that God had commanded Noah to build to protect him, his family, and two each of every unclean animal and seven of every clean animal. The Bible was once again way ahead of science. (Sorry, I don’t like to call it Noah’s ark; it was more like God’s ark as built by Noah.)
Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. Gen. 6:20
It has been recently discovered that animals have a unique ability to sense and produce infrasonic sound—sound heard at lower frequencies, and undetectable by humans. God has given animals built in radar for sensing natural disasters. In an article by Fox News (click on link below) it is now the goal of scientific researchers to try and discover this “sense” so they can harness it to help warn humans of impending natural catastrophes as well. All I can say is this: If you see animals disappear by the hundreds of thousands in an animal rapture, I would get right before you get left (That’s a joke—I think?!?)
The Bible says that God takes care of every creature, even the measly Sparrow who neither sows nor reaps nor gathers their food into barns (Matt. 6:26-33). Contrary to the media humans are much more valuable then these animals; God also warns us if we have our God-radio tuned to the right channel. Even many Christians, myself included, have their God-radio turned on, but sometimes the still small voice is drowned out by the static-like cares of this world that creep in seemingly unnoticed.
I can recall specific events in my own life, times when my own choices landed me in dark situations all because I did not heed the prompting of the Lord. On one occasion, I remember hearing that prompting to not involve myself in a certain activity. I wasn’t walking with the Lord and so I pushed that small voice to the side (I Kin. 19:11-12). Later on the same evening the Lord came to me once again, but this time the voice was even stronger. “DON’T DO IT, TURN AROUND.” I heard the Lord very distinctly. I again brushed it off, but this time the prompting literally manifested in the natural realm in the form of an intense stomachache—one that made me double over and almost cry. One would think that I would have gotten the picture. I didn’t. I continued on the same course which led me down a path to the very rooftop of hell itself. If only I had listened to that voice!
I have talked to others, especially those with a call of God on their lives, who have had similar experiences. One man in prison that I minister to by letter said he experienced the same thing numerous times—especially relevant since he has been in and out of prison about five times, claiming to have accepted Christ as his Savior the first time in. It’s amazing how we push that voice aside so we can continue on in our season (or seasons for some) of sin.
Let’s listen to that voice and obey for our own good. If you can’t hear it then that is a matter altogether different. Don’t you wish science could catch up with the Bible? How far ahead would we be then? It’s probably good that they are blinded to these things, huh?
The voice of the Spirit of God
is as gentle as a summer breeze—
so gentle that unless you are living
in … fellowship
… with God,
you will never hear it.
